The Magic Mncwabe Clan

The Mncwabe Clan and PROTEC PMB story starts back in 2015, when the first of the young Mncwabe girls (Sinenhlanhla) attending Voortrekker High School in PMB decided to enroll at PROTEC PMB – in order to gain extra exposure to core Mathematics and Physical Science, in order to attain their dreams!  Mom as a Teacher, and Dad a truck-driver for KZN Dept. of Transport, were in full support of this venture as their children were hard-working and had dreams of careers in the Medical field.

Both Exec Director Rose Smuts and Administrator Valencia Mzila well remember these two pretty girls, followed by their equally determined brother, who came into PROTEC PMB – all  with a determined attitude to do well – and they all DID!

It is indeed amazing that a family of THREE children, quite different in personalities but totally similar in aspirations and motivation, succeed as these three Mncwabes have done:

1. Ms Sinenhlanhla Mncwabe (PROTEC PMB Class of 2017) completed her BPharm degree at the Nelson Mandela University in 2022.
2. Sinenhlanhla’s twin, Nonhlanhla, is currently in 5th Year at Wits studying MB BCh: she will soon be into her Junior Houseman Year!

3. And finally, Bonginhlanhla, not to be outdone by his sisters, Bongi is registered in his 4th Year in MB ChB at UKZN in Durban.

This is an absolutely incredible achievement within one family – to have one Pharmacist, and two other siblings well on their way to qualifying as Medical Doctors is an unbelievable achievement!

We at PROTEC are so proud, we can only imagine how the parents of these three siblings must feel!
