Grade 12 Work Experience

The final aspect of the Grade 12 Career Guidance Module which answers the nagging question, “Have I identified the correct career for me?”

For the first time, a large group of Grade 12s travelled to Umhlanga to ThoroughTec Simulation to experience the power of what  software development is capable of doing in our day to day world.  ThoroughTec manufactures and programmes simulators for all sorts of large mining and other type of machines, which are too expensive to break if operated incorrectly. So to learn how to operate these machines, operators are first tutored on Simulators which look and feel like the “real thing”! Two students also visited ThoroughTec’s Design Department and Mechatronic Engineering Division – Graeme and Colin Bruschi hosted them.
